I haven't seen much research done on this. Long term harm will probably take more time to assess.

It depends on the nature of regulation. No bans or access restrictions, but highlighting the health costs, much as is currently done with the consumption of tobacco

I am not a health expert, but there is mounting evidence of the risks and damages, including an advisory by U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory based on existing evidence. Based on this evidence regulation to address negative social externalities seems justified.

I agree with the objective of protecting children on social media platforms. The issue is HOW protections are setup. Does it require the content to be policed?or platforms are required to provide tools for parents to limit what a child can see? etc? this will need research

Old media follow some useful rules. Similar rules are needed for the social media.

I am not too familiar with the current legislation, but as a user of social media, there seems to be close to free access and little accountability on the part of platforms.

DSA is powerful instrument to address harm from social media & its negative externalities. But we lack evidence on effectiveness. Too early and much depends on the EU's willingness to enforce it. Early evidence on more accountability & fewer micro-targeted ads to teens
